About UsWestoning Players are a very sociable, friendly amateur dramatic group with members from Westoning and surrounding areas of Bedfordshire. The group was formed in 1975.We perform two or three productions a year, striving to include as many members as possible on stage and off. We are fortunate to have a pool of committed, skilled and willing members who are keen to be involved in all aspects of theatre-craft.
We cover various genres of theatre from pantomime to serious drama. We do like our audiences to enjoy themselves! were performed by the Players over three nights at the beginning of May 2007. Delicious two-course suppers and bar facilities were provided by Westoning Lower School PTA and the Ampthill & Woburn Scout Fellowship and the profits were then shared. Everyone worked extremely hard to ensure that the evenings ran smoothly and we feel proud to have succeeded in forging new links in the community. ---------------------------------------
Westoning Players hold an AGM in the first week of
September each year where constitutional matters are discussed. The
committee consists of eight members including chairman, secretary,
treasurer, membership secretary, and four others.
Everyone is welcome to our weekly club nights on a Thursday evening at 7.45pm in Westoning Village Hall. (We meet then whether or not we are rehearsing for a production). New members are always welcome. Just come along one Thursday evening; we will make you very welcome. All members and patrons receive a regular newsletter called Backstage Chat.
